Trading a Beautiful Story

Trading a Beautiful Story for a True One

This week, I’m coming to you from the heart of Florence, Italy—a city I fell head over heels for when I first visited last year. From the moment I stepped off the plane in Rome (yes, the Conclave was in full swing—still no white smoke at the time), to the quiet charm of my historic boutique hotel nestled in the center of Florence, I felt something shift.

Gratitude. Joy. Ease.

Now, anyone who knows me knows how much I adore Paris. French culture has always felt like home—especially the champagne and butter. I even used to believe that purpose and passion could only exist for me there. Why? Because my mother’s family is French, and I thought that tethered me to one specific place.

Turns out, I was wrong.

And I say that lovingly, because we all do this. We get attached to ideas about who we are and what’s possible. We repeat the same old narratives about unworthiness or disappointment. We stick to familiar stories—ones rooted in survival, fear, or scarcity—and we forget to pause, reflect, and ask if those stories are even true.

Being back in Florence, attending my mastermind retreat, I’m reminded once again of what’s possible when we soften our grip on who we think we’re supposed to be and open ourselves to something more.

Whether it’s expanding beyond the “Paris girl” identity, or something deeper—like finally claiming my worth, owning my power, or practicing humility without self-abandonment—this journey has shaped me in every way.

And here’s what I know for sure:
You’re meant for this too.

You’re meant to grow. To heal. To tell a new story.

This work I do—coaching women through reinvention, through heartache, through rediscovering who they are—it’s not about fixing people. It’s about helping them come home to themselves.

I’ve lived through the heartbreaks and the rebuilds. I’ve learned that clarity doesn’t come from waiting for the world to calm down. It comes from deciding that your inner peace, your joy, and your purpose are worth claiming now.

If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to begin again, this is your invitation.

Let’s explore what’s possible when you stop putting yourself on hold and start living from the truth of who you are.

Sending love & Light from Florence,

Michèle

Ducktales

There’s a lovely park in the center of downtown Bellevue—a 21-acre oasis tucked into the heart of the city. It features a stepped canal, a cascading waterfall, and a peaceful reflecting pond. There’s always something happening: family picnics, volleyball games on the great lawn, and a charming unofficial dog park that springs to life around 5 p.m. each day.

I love this park year-round, but in the spring, something special happens—ducks appear in pairs, waddling through the grass and gliding across the water. They bring a sweet, lighthearted energy to the whole place. It always feels like love is in the air.

The other day, I was strolling through the park when I noticed a pair of ducks frantically paddling toward each other—only to be repeatedly separated by a small, remote-controlled speedboat. A young boy stood at the edge of the pond, beaming as he steered the boat with delight, clearly enjoying his control over the scene.

What Divorce Lawyers Don’t Always Tell You About Your Mortgage

Divorce isn't just the end of a relationship — it’s often the beginning of some of the most complicated financial decisions you’ll ever face. In this week's Getting to the Heart episode, I’m joined by Jeff Landers, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, Certified Divorce Lending Professional, and founder of Divorce House Sense®.

Together, we get to the heart of one of the most emotional — and critical — aspects of divorce: deciding what happens to the marital home.

Jeff shares the insights he's gained from more than 15 years of working exclusively with divorcing women across the country. We talk about why early negotiation is crucial, the hidden pitfalls of assuming you can simply "keep the house," and why even a fair divorce settlement can unintentionally sabotage your ability to refinance a mortgage.

Love Means Never Having to Say You're Sorry…? Really? As a starry-eyed 9-year-old in 1970, I still remember the flurry of excitement from several of my teenage aunties over the film Love Story, starring Ryan O’Neal and Ali MacGraw. It’s long been heralded as one of the great cinematic romances, and I’ll admit—I still find myself unwittingly watching it on those lazy, “wear-my-pjs-all-day” afternoons. It’s the kind of film that wraps you in the beauty of young love, grand gestures, and aching...
